Don’t take your valuable contributions for granted. It’s easy to get so caught up in our day to day responsibilities that it becomes difficult to articulate our professional value in a way that speaks to the needs of potential employers.
The key to writing achievements that get noticed is context. When done correctly it makes it easier for the reader to visualize you making the similar contributions to their organization.
For example, it would be common to find an achievement listed on a client’s resume that reads something like this:
“Signed two new top 10 accounts in 2020”.
After consulting with my client we might come up with something more like:
“Won two new top ten accounts in first half of 2020 by creating a business strategy to develop sales channels to manufacturers.”
For even more context:
“Created strategy to meet sales plan growth expectations during the COVID 19 lockdowns. Focused on specialty manufacturers and scheduled virtual meetings with procurement teams that resulted in the onboarding of two new top 10 accounts.”
